From Karla, Feng Shui Consultant in Sydney & Newcastle, Australia:

Over my life I have always been fascinated by space. I had a sporting life from childhood to my late teens as a springboard diver and trampolinist, where you need to know where you are in space at all times.

I studied Landscape Architecture and Earth Sciences at NSW University and Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia as I was also interested in natural environments: plants and animals.

I have been an entrepreneur for several decades in sustainable development. One of my achievements was the creating of the first Green Building programme, titled, “The Environmental Guidelines for the Summer Olympic Games, September 1993.” Globally Green Building programmes were established after that. I worked on many projects for the Sydney Olympics, which took place in 2000. I also worked on the Stockholm Olympic Bid as an environmental consultant.

After that period I developed a carbon trading platform called Carbonflow based in San Francisco between 2005 and 2010.

After working in sustainable development for 30 years, I felt I needed a change and decided to work in the music industry. I am the owner and Managing Director of Eastern Suburbs Piano Tuition (ESPT) for the past 7 years.

ESPT is an agency with more than 25 teachers, teaching piano, singing and guitar. ESPT is one of the largest piano tuition businesses in Sydney.

However, my interest in space keeps calling me back and I have become a licensed practitioner of the 9 Steps to Feng Shui system, developed by Monica Castaneda. Feng Shui feels like the missing piece in my interest in space and how people live and work in their homes, home offices and businesses.

Feng Shui principles are ancient Chinese principles used to identify good locations for towns and cities and how to design houses and gardens so that people are prosperous, happy and healthy. Feng Shui has become very popular in the west.
