Imagine you had a round table with only one support leg in the middle. Your table might not be very stable.
If something bad happened to that one leg, your table would collapse.
But if your table had 4 legs, like they usually do, it would be more stable. If you cut off one of those legs, though, it would still collapse.
Now imagine that your table had 8 legs, evenly distributed, and 1 larger leg in the middle. If you took out one leg, your table would hardly suffer. As long as you did not cut 2 consecutive legs off your table, you could do away with a few, and your table would not wobble.
How Many “Legs” Does Your Life Have?
Your life is much the same.
If you do not know much about Feng Shui, you probably act like your life is a table with just one leg.
When something goes wrong in your life, you feel like your life is like a table with only one wobbly leg, and that wobbly leg is all based on whatever your current problem or dilemma is.
- You have a problem with the man you love – you feel like your life has no meaning.
- You lose your job – you start thinking you are going to end up homeless.
This is not a good way to be. That is no way to live.
A Better Way to Live
When you understand Feng Shui, you never feel like that again.
Feng Shui helps you see that life is like that table with 8 legs all around and larger leg in the middle.
When something goes wrong in your life, you don’t collapse. You look at your life objectively to identify everything that is going right.
- If you get scary news about your health, you look around to see that you and your spouse are doing well as a couple, that your children are healthy, that you have a great job, and that there are many aspects about your life that you love. This gives you strength to find solutions to your dilemma.
- Say the banks denies you the mortgage to buy your dream home. You do not collapse. You keep going, because you know that everything else in your life is still alright. You make plans for the future.
The Middle Leg
What is the life area in the middle, the one represented by the larger, more stable leg? The one life area that should be at the center of your life, and sustain you even when everything else around seems to be collapsing?
That one table is Gratitude.
If you live your life from a place of gratitude, everything seems to be better. All of a sudden you get “luckier.”
